Hi

I posted a few weeks ago about a loud buzzing noise coming from my laptops speakers whenever audio/video with audio is player, even when the volume is muted.It stops instantly when the video/music is stopped or muted.

I was given a solution to do a clean install audio software/driver by the user “Banhien”, this seemed to work for about a day but the problem came straight back, and as i had clicked solved on the post I tried replying but did not get a reply.

I am wondering what i should try next, i’m concerned it’s a hardware problem and will have to send my máy tính away for repair as it is still under warranty and i have the care pack.

Any help appreciated

Don’t worry as I’ll be glad to help,I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)

To check for updates now, select theStartbutton,and then go toSettings>Update & security>Windows Update, and selectCheck for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant:Go toDownload HP Support Assistantto install the tool.

  • To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon.
  • ClickMy devicesin the top menu, and then clickUpdatesin theMy PCorMy notebookpane.
  • ClickCheck for updates and messagesto scan for new updates.
  • Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  • Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  • Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then clickDownload and install.
  • Use the troubleshooting tool in Windows:

    The audio troubleshooting tool in Windows can automatically fix common audio recording and audio playback problems with your computer. Run the troubleshooting tool using the following steps:

    • In Windows, type find and fix audio into Search, or right-click the speaker iconin the taskbar and selectTroubleshoot sound problems.
    • SelectFind and fix audio playback problemsorFind and fix audio recording problemsfrom the Search results.
    • ClickNext.
    • Select the device you want to troubleshoot and clickNext.
    • Wait while the troubleshooter detects problems and makes changes (or prompts you to make changes).
    • When the troubleshooter is done, theTroubleshooting has completedpage is displayed, listing any problems found and what changes were made to the computer.
    • Click Close.
    • If a recommended action is displayed, selectApply this fix.

    Restoring the audio driver in HP Recovery Manager:

  • In Windows, search for and openRecovery Manager.
  • ClickReinstall drivers and/or applications.
  • Select the audio driver in the list, and then clickInstall.
  • Wait for the driver to reinstall. When the installation is complete, clickOK.
  • Close HP Recovery Manager and then restart your computer.
  • Test for sound. If the audio problem persists after reinstalling the driver, try updating the driver using Device Manager.
  • Updating the audio driver using Device Manager:

    Make sure the audio device is enabled and then update the audio driver using Device Manager as follows:

  • In Windows, search for and openDevice Manager.
  • Double-clickSound, video and trò chơi controllers.
  • If a sound device is listed with a down arrow, the device is disabled. Right-click the sound device name and selectEnableto re-enable the device.
  • With the sound device enabled, right-click the sound device and selectUpdate Driver Software.
  • ClickSearch automatically for updated driver software.
  • Windows checks for and installs any updated drivers found. The window displays whether the computer already has the latest available driver or if Windows was able to successfully update the audio driver.
  • If a window opens asking you to restart the computer, restart the computer.
  • Test for sound. If the audio problem persists after updating the driver, continue to the next step.
  • If you completed these steps and the latest driver was already installed, use the following steps to uninstall and then reinstall the driver:

  • In Windows, search for and openDevice Manager.
  • Double-clickSound, video and trò chơi controllers.
  • Right-click the sound device and selectUninstall.
  • Restart the computer to reinstall the driver.
  • Test for sound. If the audio problem persists after reinstalling the driver, continue to the next step.

    Hiya

    I’ve tried everything on this list over the past few days and nothing has fixed the problem, I’ve attached a link to a video of the noise hopefully this can help to diagnose? Any other help is appreciated
