  • Splashtop was hands down cheaper than LogMeIn which we replaced with Splashtop this year. SOS is the one to one software like LogMeIn Rescue while the Business Remote is the connect and manage multiple machines ….

  • I see that SOS is the on demand product similar to LMI Rescue, however the quote “Anytime unattended access to an unlimited number of computers” is what’s throwing me.

  • I have the “Splashtop SOS Plus – 1 technician with unlimited unattended computers total” subscription. It works via Splashtop Business application that can be installed on multiple computers, but only used by one at any given time. I have it on my máy tính, my wife’s máy tính, and my desktop. The “Splashtop SOS Plus – 1 technician with unlimited unattended computers total” product gives one person the ability to install unlimited unattended access Splashtop Streamer agents (the equivalent of TV host-only) PLUS it gives that same person SOS, which is the equivalent of LMI Rescue and TeamViewer QuickSupport. It is MUCH cheaper than TV.

  • A few days ago, they came out with a new Splashtop SOS for Android client that now allows viewing AND remote control of nearly any Android phone running Android 8 or newer. It used to only give remote CONTROL for Samsung, LG, and Lenovo phones, with view-only for the rest. That was a relief because I had to walk my 85-year-old father-in-law through something by getting him to follow the cursor (they see two concentric circles like a target) and then get him to tap it. Now I can control it like I used to do his old Samsung S5.It is AWESOME. For iPhones, it’s still view-only with them seeing a cursor, as far as I know.

  • Thanks all for the responses. Sorry for the delay.  If you only need unattended tư vấn of computers, Splashtop Remote Support Plus is definitely the cost effective way to go (up to 250 computers).   If you do need “attended” remote tư vấn, SOS would then be needed. Please feel không lấy phí to PM me or engage our sales team with chat session or phone call.  Thank you again for the opportunity.

  • Just thought of another question.  I have a couple of customers where their CPA connects in occasionally and he also uses Splashtop.

Is it possible for both of us to access the same machine (at different times of course)?

If you need to be able to remote tư vấn the computers, and then also grant remote access to secondary users (CPAs), you should subscribe to Splashtop Remote Support Premium.  Premium version has enhanced monitoring and management features, as well as secondary remote access included.   Maybe, you can charge customers more for the access feature… Splashtop Business Access is priced at $60 per user per year & Pro version is $99 per user per year.  Thanks

  • That’s going to cause a problem then.  I’m not going to move to a much more expensive version to enable the occasional access (maybe 5 times a year) their CPA needs to connect to export some data from Quickbooks/Peachtree when we both already have paid subscriptions.

The CPAs already have subscription as well?  If the CPAs have Business Access subscription, they should be able access the computers already.   Maybe I am misunderstanding your needs…. please feel không lấy phí to engage us directly to map out the best package that can tư vấn both you and the CPAs’ needs.  Thanks.

  • I’ll reach out to Sales.

The CPA uses Splashtop Remote Support Plus to remotely access his clients when needed.  A couple of my clients use him.

He has his Splashtop Streamer installed on these machines.  I have Teamviewer installed on these machines.

Were I to move to Splashtop, we’d butt heads.  We’d never need remote access at the same time but since the installed Streamer is tied to his account, I don’t know how or if I could access those machines with my Splashtop account thus the dilemma.

I’ve had occasions with Teamviewer where someone besides myself would need occasional access to the remote machine and it was a simple matter of either giving them the TV ID and password or have the user give them the TV generated temporary password.

  • The CPA uses Splashtop Remote Support Plus, so he has Unlimited Technicians that can use it. I believe that he can allow you to be one of his Unlimited Technicians, assuming that you have a good relationship with the CPA, and he can assign computers to you to restrict access so that you cannot get to his other clients. You would need to create a separate Splashtop account under a different email address to keep it separate from your paid subscription.

Mark,The best package would mimic TeamViewer where more than one account can be allowed to access an installed host agent (Splashtop Streamer). I ma not talking about simultaneous access; just two accounts being able to connect to a single streamer at different times.I have the “Splashtop SOS Plus – 1 technician with unlimited unattended computers total” subscription, and a client of mine has a Splashtop Business account for 10 computers (I’m not sure exactly which plan it is). On the computers where HIS streamer is installed, I have permission from him to log into his account to access those computers. It would be far more convenient if I could use my OWN paid account to access computers in HIS paid account. After all, you have TWO companies with paid licenses, so I should be able to access his clients with my own login. Obviously, I am not the only one with this scenario.I have run into this issue a few times and I always recommend install someone else’s software for their own use if they don’t trust me with their account access.

  • Mark (Splashtop)When I used TeamViewer, I always used the whitelist to allow the needed accounts (mine, his, their vendors, family, etc.) for more-than-one access to a given computer, while blocking access from all other accounts.

  • Thanks Gregg.  We have a good relationship and I’m in fact his IT tư vấn guy so he probably wouldn’t mind setting me as a 2nd technician with me using a different Splashtop account.  There’s only a handful of computers where this will be an issue on but it will be an issue.

I would just use an alias email account to set up a second Splashtop account. If ONE account that is not one’s own main account would work for multiple people who want to make you a tech on their Splashtop Remote Support Plus account (or any other that allows multiple users), that would be cool. We could do something like “splashtop-for-shared-clients(at)myrealdomainname.tld” and use it anywhere someone wanted to give secondary access. However, I have a feeling that it would barf and complain for the second person trying to add that address as a tech on their own  Splashtop Remote Support Plus account (or any other that allows multiple users).

Mark (Splashtop), can one alias email address (NOT my primary for my own account) be used by two different companies who have their own Splashtop Remote Support Plus account (or any other that allows multiple users) in order to provide secondary access? If not, I suppose we could just create an email address and account for each customer fitting this scenario. Something like “splashtop-client1(at)Tmyrealdomainname.tld”, “splashtop-client2(at)Tmyrealdomainname.tld” etc.

  • sorry for the delay because I don’t know the answer so I had to ask our team.

Our tư vấn responded that an user account should be able to be part of two separate Splashtop Remote Support Plus accounts.however, our team is looking at a cleaner/better way to tư vấn such scenario. thanks.

Not quite sure what that means but my plan is to use SOS.  The Remote Support Plus subscription for the number of devices I need would end up costing me twice what I’m paying for Teamviewer and I’m not going to take that route.

apology, I was referring to Gregg’s question about enabling secondary user access across different Remote Support accounts.

Yes, you can use SOS Unlimited for your needs, as it allows for unlimited unattended and attended computers for $399 per tech per year.  You can contact our sales and also get Spiceworks discount (15%) for first year subscription for new subscriber. Thanks

  • Sorry for another vendor plug, but to those looking to combine remote desktop access with some other features, like security patch management (OS and 3rd party apps), software deployment, reporting, remote management etc, it’s worth looking into our Action1 product. It is a fully cloud-based product that has it all at one flat fee per endpoint (and if it’s 10 endpoints or less it’s không lấy phí to use with no limitations). Remote access is fully integrated (the same agent, the same protocol, no extra fees) among the rest of the features. And since it’s cloud-based, it works well in work from home scenarios (needs no VPN etc).

Will be glad to answer any questions or offer help!
